If you have built or own a 3d printer you have probably felt that giddy feeling of anticipation when you turn it on for the first time. It is an incredible feeling to know you can print anything you can imagine!! But then...after printing a chess set, several figurines of your favorite characters, and maybe a few gears and trinkets, reality hits. Printing single solid objects is kind of lame.
So you start looking for something more interesting and find drones, robots, cars and other awesome advanced projects. But you cannot print screws and belts and electronics for these interesting projects. So you look at the parts list and find you need to buy 27 odd parts from 10 different vendors.
And that's where we come in. We want to unlocked the potential of the 3d printing and the 3d maker movement by making it dead simple to get the parts that are needed to build the amazing things people are designing.
Assemble is our attempt to solve the problem, but we can't do it alone. We need the help of the community to figure out what people want to build, the best deals on all the parts, and the best ways to build and improve the projects. We can then capture the economies of scale and pass the saving onto you. We hope you will join us in this effort to unlock the potential of 3d printing!
We are just getting started so come Join the effort to make advanced 3d printable projects more accessible as www.assemble.network.
